Salumificio Benese was founded in 1973 by an idea of the brothers Antonio and Giuseppe Borra, who together with their friend Bruno Belmondo constitute a small laboratory for the slaughter and processing of pork in the historic center of Narzole, a town on the outskirts of the Langhe.
Thanks to the experience gained over the years in other factories, "Gepe" begins to produce the typical salami of the Cuneo territories, while "Tonio" is dedicated to the production of cooked hams and Bruno to raw hams.
The pigs are selected with great care, choosing only the best animals in the farms of the nearby countryside.
As the products are successful, there is a need for a larger production site, suitable to support the growing demand. The company was then transferred to Bene Vagienna, a few kilometers from Narzole.
Salumificio Benese immediately conquers its precise identity within the Cuneo entrepreneurial reality. Faithful to a pact of loyalty with the territory, the company cultivates the traditions of Piedmont, researches the raw material near the slaughterhouse and, above all, it is strongly rooted in the founding values of its creed: craftsmanship, made in Italy, safety and customer care.
Over time, Salumificio Benese has been able to expand its gamma, offering new flavors: specialties such as Salame al Barolo Docg, Cervere leek sausage and Truffle Sausage were born.
